We look at them
And they at us.
And we wish we could
be in each others' shoes.
But we cannot;
their shoes are too hard
and ours too soft
But we still try
we buy softer versions
of their shoes
and we are happy
nothing else has changed
we just own yet another pair of shoes
Yet we smile
and feel good.
And they go on
in their old shoes.
